What did Wittgenstein know about Hegel and how does his philosophy relate to that of the influential nineteenth-century thinker? The present study seeks answers to these questions by carefully reconstructing Wittgenstein's remarks about Hegel, taking account of the gradual development of his own thought and its connections to the long history of philosophy.
